Taskstand vs Toggl
Toggl is more than a timer now: tasks, a board and a timeline are part of it, and you pay per user. This page is about that new Toggl. Still on Toggl Track? Read the comparison with Toggl Track instead.

Where Toggl is better
-
Capacity and workload
Toggl shows who is overbooked and how much room someone has left, per person and per team. Taskstand has no capacity per person.
-
Apps on every device
Toggl has apps for your computer and your phone. Taskstand runs in the browser, on your phone too, and is not in the App Store or on Google Play.
-
A dashboard per project
From Premium you see per project the hours against the estimate, progress per task and per person, and an expected end date.
-
Moving over from Toggl Track
If you are on Toggl Track already, clients, projects, tasks and hours move to the new Toggl in one go, and the two can be kept in step afterwards.
Where Taskstand is better
-
Your team pays nothing
Toggl charges per user. In Taskstand you pay for your own projects, and team members you invite keep their own free account.
-
Share a section, not the whole project
A client with the Restricted role sees only the sections or tasks you share. A guest in Toggl sees the projects they were added to.
-
Every project on one screen
The dashboard shows every running project with its status, progress and hours, on every plan. From Plus it also shows what still has to be invoiced.
-
Knowing what has been invoiced
Mark hours as invoiced, and Taskstand shows per project what is still open. In Toggl you export your hours to your own invoicing. From Plus.
-
A light task list
Sections, subtasks, Today and quick add in a single line. Tasks stay as simple as a to-do list, with the hours attached.

Who is better off with Toggl
Toggl stays the better choice for a team that has to plan capacity and wants to see per person who is overbooked. And if you have been on Toggl Track for years, Toggl's own import and sync are the shortest way over.
Switching from Toggl
Start with what is running now. Make a project per client, and turn the statuses you use in Toggl into sections.
Bring over the open tasks, with their dates and subtasks. Leave what is done in Toggl.
If you keep track of rates, give the project a budget with an hourly rate. From then on you start the timer on the task in Taskstand.

Frequently asked questions
- Does Taskstand have a mobile app?
- Not in the App Store or on Google Play. Taskstand works in your phone's browser, with a layout made for a small screen, and you can add it to your home screen as an app.
- Can my client see my hourly rate?
- No. Rates, budgets and amounts are seen only by the owner of the project and a manager. A client sees nothing about the hours, and a restricted member only what you share with them.
- Do my clients and my team have to pay?
- No. You pay for your own projects. Whoever you invite keeps their own free account and pays nothing. They do count towards the number of people your plan allows.
- Can I keep using Toggl alongside it?
- Yes, but tracking your hours in two places soon means doing the work twice. Decide per project where the timer runs.
